What’s in an Abbey Cocktail
It’s a simple but very elegant cocktail to make. With gin as above make sure it’s a smooth and soft gin with mellow botanicals. If you go too hard you will ruin the orange flavours.
Gin
As we try new things. We have a few gins in our bar. So for the Abbey, it was made with a Hendricks gin. The Hendricks gin is infused with Rose and cucumber. Which gives it a really interesting flavor.
Lillet Blanc
Lillet is an aperitif wine. Best served chilled at 6- 8 oC or 43 – 46 oF
Angostura Bitters
Has been around since 1824, and found prominence in the 1870s when it became an integral ingredient in cocktails and food.
Ice
You can not go wrong with ice. The preference is ice cubes. We like that big cubes.

A cocktail glass is fine for the Abbey. However, we picked up a set of 4 stemless Martini Glasses. We love these glasses that are a nice twist on tradition. They are casual yet elegant. It’s a modern twist on an old classic.
How to Make a Abbey Cocktail
It’s a simple cocktail to make, just pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker containing several ice cubes. Just don’t forget the Garnish. A cherry will set it off nicely, and it looks impressive.

Ingredients
1 Measure gin
1/2 ounce lillet blanc
1 ounce Orange juice
1 Dash Angostura Bitters
Ice cubes
Instructions
Pour into a cocktail shaker containing several ice cubes
Shake and strain in a cocktail glass.
Garnish with a cherry.
