Baileys Chocolate Covered Cherry

The Baileys Chocolate Covered Cherry is a shot done right. What makes this work, is you can also serve it over ice in a standard rocks glass with no problems. Either way, the combination of Irish flavors with Coffee is a great way to start a night.

Perfect as either a shot or served over ice in a rock’s glass. Our favorite Irish cream bottle is Baileys, it has really cornered the market pretty well.  But really any Irish Cream will do.

With the Kahlua, you can’t beat the deep Arabica coffee flavor.  The grenadine is a non-alcoholic syrup that gives it the cherry.

If you want to dress up your rocks glass, then swirl some chocolate syrup around the glass.  It gives it a nice look to the glass as well adding a bit of extra omphfff to the flavor.

Best drinking time for the Baileys Chocolate Covered Cherry

Well depends on what you want to do.  Shots are a great party started with friends.  But if you are more inclined to want to sit, and sip a thoughtful drink.  Then this is definetly an after-dinner drink for sure.

What’s in a Baileys Chocolate Covered Cherry

A fantastic combination of Kahlua and Baileys, layered with Grenadine.  A versatile drink where you can either pour it over ice and into a rocks glass or straight up into a shot glass.

Baileys

Baileys Irish Cream is an Irish cream liqueur – an alcoholic drink flavored with cream, cocoa, and Irish whiskey.  Really any bottle of Irish Cream liqueur will do the trick.

Grenadine

A a non-alcocholic sytrup.  Its flavor is both tart and sweet and deep red color. Has been traditionally made from pomegranate.

Kahlua

Kahlúa is a coffee liqueur from Veracruz, Mexico. The drink contains rum, sugar, and arabica coffee.

Ice

If you are going with the over-ice method and prefer ice cubes that is fine.  But crushed ice can be a real treat.  Just keep in mind that crushed ice tends to melt quickly.

Which glass do I use?

It’s perfect in a shot glass, but the Baileys Chocolate Covered Cherry works well in a rocks glass.   So for a rocks glass, we recommend the Libbey Heavy Base Rocks cocktail glasses.  For the Shot glass, we recommend the DGQ Round 1.5 oz Shot glass by leateck.  Both are available from Amazon.

How to Make a Baileys Chocolate-Covered Cherry

If you are doing shots, make sure it’s layered.  Pour Grenadine, then Kahlua then Irish Cream into the shot glass.  If you are drinking it over ice, then you don’t need to layer it.
